Lately, all of my posts have been hodgepodge posts with a little of this and that. That’s working for me, right now. I get a post done once a week and don’t feel like I’ve abandoned the blog.
Last Saturday afternoon, we headed to Charlotte to celebrate Hubby’s birthday day with some friends. We went to Jim N Nick’s BBQ restaurant in Concord. It was my family’s first time eating there, but one of our friends had been before. The food was pretty good. They serve these cheese mini muffins and they are delicious! After lunch we stopped by the ABC store picked up some libations and then hung out at our friends’ home for the rest of the evening. Hubby really enjoyed his day.
I went on a bit of bread binge last week. These were my culprits:
So, I gained back a pound. *sigh* However, I’m proud of the fact that I’m still consistently working out. Most of the time I really really don’t want to, but I still push pass that and get it done. I spent an hour in B&N last Sunday reading through Dr. Ian’s Shred book, thinking I was going to buy it. I didn’t. I love the fact that my friend Amber from Talk to Amber loss 4 pounds in the first week. However, I know me. I will not stick to that detailed regimen, but I did love that the book offered lists of healthy snacks from, I think, 100 calories to 250 calories. I will probably buy the book just for those lists. I have started eating more during the day. One of my big problems is that I would eat once or twice a day, then be starving and reach for a crap snack. This week I started eating more and making better healthier snack choices.
Speaking of health, this morning, I finally made all the doctors appointments for myself and RJ that I’ve been putting off. The little guy will make his first trip to the dentist next week. Wish me luck! So, far he’s been a peach with is pediatrician and ENT. I hope the streak continues. I booked my overdue annual with my OB/GYN. Also, I made an appointment with the eye doctor. I haven’t been in 7 years… We have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of our families, right?
We pay RJ’s daycare tuition every two weeks. February 22nd I wrote a check for his tuition. I received an email with the invoice stating they had the check and our account was in good standing. Nothing out of the ordinary there. Well, one week went by and the check hadn’t cleared. It usually takes 2 to 3 days. I thought maybe there was a holdup at the bank or something, and let it go. So, last week the check still hadn’t cleared. I’m concerned because I was getting ready to write a check for the next two weeks last Friday. I called the bank and had them search for the check number. Maybe it had gone through but wasn’t showing up online. The rep said he had no record of the check. I sent an email to the daycare director and accountant. This is an issue. One I’ve been sent an email stating the account was clear. I didn’t want to let this go by, have them come across my check weeks or months later and screw me. As of Tuesday, they are “looking into it”. Meanwhile, the check that I turned in last week cleared a couple of days ago. Still no sign of the one from nearly 3 weeks ago…
