I return to work one month from tomorrow:):( I have mixed feelings about the return. I miss the interaction with my co-workers, so on the one hand, I’m looking forward to the return. However, I know I’m going to miss my baby like crazy! Thank goodness that even though I work, I don’t exactly stay away from home for 8hours straight, in a workday. I go to work for 4hours, go home for dinner and return back to work. So it’s not so bad.
I called my boss yesterday just to touch base and remind him of my return date and to make sure my new work schedule was still good to go. The Hubby an I only have an hour lag between when I leave for work and he gets home from work. Instead of paying for daycare for 8hours when we only needed it for about 2, we decided to see if our jobs would allow us to adjust our work schedules. Hubby’s schedule change was a no-brainer. They are very flexible. I was concerned that my job might not go for it. I decided to cut 5hours out of my work week in order to keep RJ out of daycare. The loss in pay, is nothing compared to what it would cost us to pay for daycare every month. Fortunately, the powers that be agreed:) When I return, my workday will be one hour shorter each day. Hubby and I will do a baby swap at his job an I will head to work and they will head home. I admit the thought of RJ being with one of us all day, and not a stranger makes going back to work easier. I’m happy that one of us will be around to witness all of his “firsts”! I’m very grateful that we are able to do this. It’s the closest I can get to be a stay-at-home mom. This is one of the few times that my husband an I working different shifts, really benefits us! I’m sure this arrangement may not work forever but for RJ’s first year, it is a blessing!
What do you think of the new header!!! It was taken this past Spring at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. I thought it was time for a change. Plus, the flower color is beautiful:)
