I’ve been really slack around these parts, but I’ve been reading reading a lot of blogs. I switched to Feedly since Google Reader is on its last leg. I guess I like it so far. Have you made the switch yet? If so, what have you switched to?
Last weekend RJ was invited to a classmate’s birthday party. It was 9:45am Saturday morning. o_O Is it just me or was that totally too early for a party? We went, he had a great time and I met moms that I don’t get to see because of my schedule. A few months ago he was invited to a party at 3:30 on Super Bowl Sunday. We skipped that one!
I registered for my first real race! I’ll be running the Black Girls Run 5k in Charlotte this September. BGR is actually doing a conference in the city that weekend. My skipping all of that and just running the race. I wanted to start out small and give myself time to prepare. I’m currently using the couch to 10k app and I’m up to 4miles. So, I think I’ll be fine for the 5k.
Speaking of running. I have joined the local BGR group. I haven’t run with them yet because of I my schedule. They have a standing run at 5am every morning… ain’t nobody got time for that. I will probably join them once a week on the weekends. Those runs don’t start until 7:30;)
I’ve been planning the Spring Fling for RJ’s daycare. It’s tomorrow evening. I’m so ready for it to be over. I have to run out today and pick up a few things and I have to make a few last minute phone calls. The most frustrating part is the lack of parental volunteers. We have the same 5 parents, mainly the officers on the pta board, doing it all, all of the time. *sigh*
My job’s second largest fundraising event will be held Saturday night. It’s a black tie gala and auction. Thankfully, I didn’t have to be involved in the planning. I’ll just show up do whatever I signed up to do, eat, drink and go home.
However, Monday we’ve organized an agency-wide training for all of our volunteers. The training has morning and evening sessions. I’m organizing the workshop with another co-worker. Let’s just say between this event and the Spring Fling, I’m tired of email.
Much to Hubby’s
insistence delight, RJ is in love with baseball. However, he doesn’t quite get all of the games ins and outs…
