I'm just saying

Sick and Tired

I’m so ready for this week to be over and done with.  Wednesday I left work early with a fever and chills. I’d been having problems with itchy eyes, sneezing and a runny nose, which I attributed to allergies. When I got the chills on Wednesday, I started to think that there might be more to it.  Thursday I stayed home. However, RJ woke up with a 102 fever that morning and stayed with me. *Note to self: Being home with a sick child doesn’t help you get better. Can you say no rest?!*  Anyway, he not only had a fever but seemed to be having breathing trouble as well. I gave him an albuterol treatment and he got better. He had a scheduled doctor’s appointment the next day to check his ears from an infection, so I just played Mommy nurse until then. I was feeling better, not 100%, but better so I didn’t make an appointment to see my doctor.

I took RJ to his doctor this morning and let her know what’s been going on with him. She checked his ears and they were infected AGAIN!!! This was the 5th time in 6 months.  We had discussed placing tubes in his ears, previously.  Well, with the infection coming back so soon, we will be going to meet with an ENT in the coming weeks and go from there.  *I’ll keep you posted.*

After the appointment, I took RJ to school, got him squared away and headed to work.  I started to feel bad again. I knew I’d waited too long to eat, but it wasn’t just being hungry.  I called my doctor and he had an opening, so I went to see him on my lunch break.  He told me I either had a bacterial infection or a virus and asked if I wanted him to check my white blood cells to be certain or just get some antibiotics. I opted to be sure, so the nurse came in and took some blood.  5 minutes later he came in and told me my white cells were low and some had gathered on the left and they didn’t want to fight and some other stuff…*Do you have a WTH look on your face, too?! Yeah? Ok!* Bottom line, I have a bacterial infection and now I have a prescription for antibiotics!

When I returned to work I had a conversation about this weeks happenings at The M Spot with my co-worker. We’ve decided I need a me, myself and I weekend.  It won’t be far but I would love to sleep late, lounge in my pjs,  not worry if and what the baby is eating, why the dog just threw up or what home improvement project Hubby wants to tackle himself instead of letting a pro do it!  I’m thinking nice hotel, room service, shopping, spa, drinks and nice evenings laughing with great friends. Kinda like this weekend Babs over at Musings on Motherhood spent in Charlotte!!  Yep, the wheels are turning! Time to plan out this fabulous date with myself:) I’m beginning to think it’s something EVERY mom should do from time to time.

Yes if you can get away and have a babysitter do it. I would love to get away for the weekend but I can’t so take advantage if you can and I hope everyone can get back to normal soon.

That sounds like a dream. The getaway, not the cooties! Feel better!

Get better. Yes. I have been toying with the idea of getting away for a weekend in a swanky hotel where I would order room service and sleep and watch TV and sleep. Let us know how it goes!
