• Family vacation 2013 to PA and DC is in the books! It was a good one. We didn’t do everything I thought we would, but it was relaxing and time well spent.  I hope to write all about it soon.

  • Speaking of vacation, we were gone for 7 days.  I went back to work today and I’m off for the next 4 days.  I got a whole lot of nothing accomplished at work today.
  • I’m running my very first 5k in Charlotte next week.  Lord help me because I’ve only gotten in one run in the last few weeks.  If it stays hot and sticky like it is now, I don’t know if I’ll manage to get in a run at all.  We did a crazy amount of walking around DC the last couple of days, hopefully that helped…
  • I’m still going strong with my “Mommy” group!! We’ve gotten together a couple of times since this post.  We even started a FB group with about 7 women total.  So far, only 3 us are active participants, but we and our kids are enjoying each other.  Our next is outing planned for the end of September and we’re inviting the husbands to join in on the fun.  Yay new, local friends:)
  • Now that vacation is over, it’s time to focus on getting RJ out of these pullups. (hangs head) He will pee for days in the potty, but refuses to poop in it or let us know he even has to poop.  I haven’t been pushing because the thought of cleaning and washing poop out of his underwear grosses me out.  I have to pick up our dogs’ poop outside so that’s not the problem.  The issue is, this little boy doesn’t have solid poop.  It’s mushy and all kinds of gross. (tmi? sorry.) His doctor says it’s because of his diet, he typically only eats fruit, meat and… oh yeah… fruit and meat! However, I’m going to have to man up because I’m over this pull up life!
  • Am I the only one ready for Fall?  I tried to get a jump on the season change while we were on vacation and did a little cool weather shopping for RJ.  I bought him jeans, long sleeve shirts and Fall/Winter pjs.  He still needs new sneakers, but I think we’re off to a good start.  I bought him 3T shirts and 2T pants (adjustable waist, this boy is growing straight up, not out). I can’t believe it. We just went shopping in March and he needed 18-24 months pants. Now, those pants are highwaters.  Hopefully, he won’t outgrow his new clothes before he gets a chance to wear them.
  • RJ’s daycare mishandled my payment…AGAIN! This is the 3rd time, and far from charming. Last time I wrote about them losing my payment, it turned out it had been sitting in safe or draw somewhere.  It took them a 2 weeks to find that check. They sent me an invoice stating I made the payment, but the check never cleared our account.  This time, because I knew we’d be out of time when the payment was due, I made arrangements for another PTA mom to drop our payment in the box last Friday.  She sent me an email Friday stating it was done.  Monday, I got a notice that they didn’t have my payment. I emailed the director and told her the precautions I’d taken.  She said she couldn’t find the check, but they’d waive the late fee because of the steps I’d taken and the fact that the check was there…somewhere.  Tuesday I checked our bank account and the tuition check had cleared. I let the director and the mom know.  Yesterday, afternoon I got an invoice stated that our account was past due and at 25$ fee had been added to our account! Obviously two or three different people have their hands in this payment pot and none of them know what the others are doing.  I’m so annoyed on so many levels.

The payment drama is continuing. It’s ridiculous. I’ve sent emails trying not to flip, but they are trying me.

Nice on the mommy group!! I need one of those desperately! I hear you on washing the boys underwear. I hated that in between stage and I was pregnant to boot! Stay focused on the prize, no more pullups!!

We’ve started the only undies process… I think this is going to be the hardest transition we’ve gone through so far.

I’m glad you’ve got more moms to hang out with and just be. I remember feeling isolated even though I’ve lived in pretty much the same place all my life. As for the apyment issue? I can’t even begin to describe how much that irks me. My company, for the past two paychecks, have MISSED THE DIRECT DEPOSIT by 24-48 hours. Um…no. Needless to say I’ve just started looking for a new job. Your situation just seems so, I don’t know, handleable. Like, why is it that hard? You get the checks, you mark off names of people from whom you have checks, you cash the checks, then contact the people without a check mark. Ain’t that hard.

Good luck with your job search. I wouldn’t be able to deal with a company messing with my paycheck either.
There are definitely too many hand in the payment pot at RJ’s school. I’ll have to write a follow up soon.

You’re behind on reading blogs and I’m behind on writing for mine! I have a vacay recap and 5k recap sitting in the draft folder.
We definitely need to meet up whenever I’m in DC again.
