Our Easter Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We had a nice 3-day weekend around these parts.  After being at home with RJ most of the week, I declared Friday “Mommy all by herself day”.  I woke up early Friday morning, told the guys to fend for themselves and took myself to the 10:25 showing of Temptation.  I must say, I liked it.  *Feasting my eyes on Lance Gross didn’t hurt*  After the movie I picked up a few more things for RJ’s Easter basket and treated myself to lunch at Whole Foods.   Then, I realized I missed the guys, so I met them at the park where they were playing.  When the little guy started falling asleep on the swing, we figured it was time to head home.

Saturday, we lounged around.  The guys played outside a little then RJ and I dyed a few eggs.

Later that night, I put together baskets for the guys.  *Hubby has a serious sweet tooth…RJ has inherited it.*

Sunday, we got up early and went to the 8am mass.  It was earlier than our usual 10am choice, but we had a 10am brunch reservation.  Also, the 10am Easter mass is RIDICULOUS.  Our church is pretty large, but that mass is still standing room only.  *No thank you*

For the past few years, we’ve had Easter brunch at Soby’s. Last year we had an early reservation and it was perfect.  By the time RJ started to get antsy and the restaurant began to fill, we were done and heading home.  Yesterday, by the time we got out of church and made our way downtown, it was 9:30am.  That was cool because we were able to get our table early.  The brunch didn’t disappoint, and once again we were in and out before it became oppressively crowded.

We were home by 11am.  RJ was able to play with toys in his basket and the whole house was napping by 12pm.

How was your weekend?

Now that’s a nice weekend. We went to a few events but I miss going to church we did listen to church online though. I love when the whole house is asleep best times.

That early start did a number on all of us. There is only one thing better than the whole house being asleep, me waking up first to enjoy quiet while the whole house is asleep.

Here in the Bible belt Easter does give Mother’s Day a run for its money.

The movie was decent, but Lance, Lance, Lance. He should be a crime.
