Loving It!

I’m two weeks into my Adult Education tutoring and I love it!!  I’m teaching Social Studies and Science.  I was really nervous the first week.  I spent alot of time researching the lesson (Establishing the Colonies) and writing out my lesson plan.  I copied maps for handouts to aid the lesson.  I was really into it.  I wanted to make sure I did a good job because it could help the students get their GED.  The first class I had 7 students.  They ranged from about 19 to about 50 or 60.  I got a lot of positive feedback.

Yesterday was the 2nd class.  The lesson was the American Revolution.  I went to the school supply store and bought posters that represented different aspects of the lesson.  I also had three new students!!  I was a lot less nervous and we had a great time.  I thought that I would like it but I didn’t know I would like it this much.  It’s the highlight of my week.  I find myself spending a lot of time researching and looking for activities to make the lesson more interesting.  It’s great!

Raf also started his one-on-one math tutoring.  He has two men that he meets with.  He is also enjoying it!  I’m glad I made us do this!LOL It is very fulfilling experience.

Two in one day. You are on a roll or bored. It is great! It is emotional as well. To know that you can help men and women achieve their educational goals. It is a lot of pressure as well. They are counting on you to help them understand something that they have struggled with in some cases a very long time. James has been very thankful to me for bearing with him. He is great. He picks up on things very quickly. I am happy that Jennifer and I are doing this. She did a good job choosing this for us to do. It is a very humbling experience. Good Luck The Rest Of The Way Babe!
