Last weekend we celebrated RJ’s birthday. I’ve pretty much decided we’d only throw him birthday parties every other year. This was a party year. I decided on The Little Gym as the party spot. RJ takes class similar to theirs at his school once a week and he LOVES them. So, I figured this was a safe choice. He and his friends had a blast! The best part was we didn’t’ have to set up, clean up or entertain the kids. Well worth the money!
Hubby’s dad flew into to town for RJ’s birthday as well. We didn’t tell RJ he was coming and the look on his face when he saw his Grandpa get out of the car Friday night was awesome! They truly enjoyed each other. My plan was to take advantage of a free babysitter and have Grandpa watch RJ so Hubby and I could go out and celebrate my birthday a little early. Our cranky toddler put a wrench in that plan. No free childcare services were rendered, but it was nice to have a visitor in the house. We took the opportunity to show him around town, take him to some of our favorite restaurants and our favorite parks.
On Tuesday, RJ’s actual birthday, we went here:
We first ventured to the mouse this summer while on vacation in PA. He liked it, so much that we went two days in a row, but he was not a fan of the mouse. *BTW In PA the mouse makes it rain tickets to the tunes of the Cupid Shuffle* We took him during the week and it wasn’t crowded or crazy. He’s been talking about it ever since. So, thankfully his birthday was on a Tuesday and we got there a little after they opened. He was one of about 5-8 kids in the place. It was great! This time he let us know that he was no longer afraid of Chuck E and would give him a hug. He wouldn’t walk over to him, but he did lean in for a hug and gave him a high five.
So, with that, I’m officially the mom of a 3 year old! This is going by entirely too fast!
