Day to Day

Happy New Year…Several Days Later

Happy New Year!! *Better late than never, right?!*

As we all know, 2014 has been ushered in with some crazy frigid temperatures.  This morning was the coldest morning I’ve ever experienced in SC.

Thankfully, it’s my go in at 12:30pm day. So, I’ve got the heat on blast while snuggled under the covers wearing 3pairs of socks and my fleece pjs!

My last post was right before Christmas. Here is a rundown of our holiday in a few sentences:

RJ got lots of goodies from Santa, my brother surprised us with 40″ flat screen tv, so awesome, and we hosted him and a few friends for a Christmas seafood dinner feast. We even managed to work in a visit to see some friends and a play date.  Good times!
I fell asleep before the ball dropped, so that let’s you know our NYE was totally uneventful.

Now, we’re just forging ahead into 2014. I purchased a 3-month gym membership for Hubby and I at RJ’s school’s silent auction. It will come in handy as I prepare to run the Cooper River Bridge run in April. My first 10k! I’m very excited. Also, Hubby got me swim lessons from the same auction. So, I’m finally going to learn how to swim! All of this exercise (and counting calories with myfitnesspal) will help me lose the pounds I’ve gained in the last month and more.

I’m really looking forward to the year ahead. Our 7th wedding anniversary is in a few days, we have a wedding and a couple of graduations to attend and I’m hoping we’ll be able to eek out a vacation this year. Also, I signed RJ up to play parks and rec t-ball this Spring. I haven’t told him yet because he’ll talk about forever but, that kid LOVES sports and I think he’s going have a blast.  I, however, am a little nervous we’ll see how it goes.

Welp, that’s all that’s going on over here.  I hope you’re nice an toasty wherever you are and I wish you a wonderful 2014!

Love how you guys are embracing physical activity in 2014! I know what you mean about not telling kids too early when they’re going to do something. Since finding out I’m pregnant Nia asks EVERY.DAY. if today is the day she’s going to meet the baby. It’s going to be a long 6 months O_o . . . And happy early 7th anniversary too!

My thoughts on bridges are weird! Hubby and I have walked the Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. However, a park in downtown has a pedestrian only bridge that totally freaks me out because it moves! I hear the Cooper does, too. I hope my adrenaline rush gets me past that!

This polar vortex or whatever they are calling it has to go. It is freezing here as well. I will be glad for warmer temps.

Glad you all had a great Christmas and a great start to the new year. I need to start back running but I am such a fake runner because I can’t even when its cold. Can’t.

    Happy early Anniversary!

LOL at “fake runner”. Girl, I’m one too. This gym membership has come at a great time. Now, I can get in a run on the treadmill in the warmth of the gym!

Now, we’re debating about getting HDTV. I’m not ready to add more money to our Directv bill!
