Goodbye…Hello…and Some Fun in Between

Well, I’ve bid farewell to one job and said hello to another, since my last post!  My last day at the station went well.  I still can’t believe I don’t work in television anymore. My body is also in disbelief! For the past few days, noon has been my body’s shut down time! I’ve been surviving the second half of my days with the help of frapps with double shots of espresso.

I started at the new job last Friday. I’ve had four days of orientation. I had to travel to the four additional learning centers and met the program managers and some students and tutors. Wednesday, I finally worked from MY center with my co-manager.  I got to set up my office a little, meet some of our tutors and students, tour the entire building, which houses an alternative middle school and a high school vocational school.  RJ’s daycare closed yesterday and today for cleaning and maintenance, so I had to take the days off.  So, Monday I will work my first full week at my center!!

I’ve enjoyed being home in the evenings.  I cook dinner and we eat together, unrushed, and we get that much needed family time that I’ve always wanted! It is going just as I imagined it would!

Oh, I almost forgot! Last weekend was girls’ weekend in Atlanta!!! I got together with two of my girlfriends from college for a weekend of fun in the A! We had a blast! We stayed downtown at The Ellis Hotel. It’s where I like to stay, if I’m not staying with family.  Friday night, we had a wonderful dinner at Legal Seafood *a fave of mine* with two more of my sister-friends who live in Atlanta.  Saturday we were pampered at Natural Body Spa Morningside, had lunch at  Atlantic Station, and did some shopping.  That night we went to Dip N Dab. This was the highlight of our trip! The concept is, you take your own libations and snacks and you eat and drink while you paint. *You don’t have to know how to paint* I’d never had so much fun! I highly recommend you try it.  There are similar places in Atlanta, we chose Dip N Dab based on the choice of pictures for the day we would be there.  That night we had a late dinner at Gladys Knight & Ron Winans’ Chicken and Waffles. We wrapped up our trip Sunday with lunch at California Pizza Kitchen an a little more shopping at Perimeter Mall.  It was a truly awesome weekend! I can’t wait to do it again next summer.

The past week in pictures!

I think you will like Atlanta. There’s lots to do and see it would be a great vacation. I’m only 2hrs away, but I don’t get to visit as often as I would like.
