Well, another weekend is in the books. Our’s was pretty uneventful. How was yours? My sister is coming for a visit this week. So, we’ve been
cleaning preparing . The guest bedroom, formerly the nursery, is finally ready for guests!
This past Thursday would have been my mom’s 60th birthday. Saturday, to celebrate, we got some balloons and released them. RJ chose the colors.
He originally chose an orange and a blue balloon, but the heat didn’t like them. Purple is the Lupus Awareness color, so it worked perfectly.
I’m considering doing it every year.
Every spring, I plant a patio herb and container garden on our patio. This year was no different. However, we have an infestation of kudzu bugs. What is a kudzu bug, you ask? Here you go:
I HATE them! I’ve Googled them and there doesn’t seem to be much I can do to get rid of them. I’ve gone to two nurseries, but they weren’t able to give me concrete solutions. Tomorrow, I’m call the Clemson Cooperative Extension for help! They offer Home & Garden advice. I listen to their radio show on the local NPR station and I’m hoping they’ll have a solution. Yesterday, Hubby and RJ had to cut their t-ball game short because the bug were driving them nuts. I want to enjoy my patio so these SOBs must die!
In work news, my co-worker is out on maternity leave, tomorrow is her due date. Our part-time worker is now filling in full-time. My short work week is even shorter this week. I’m taking Thursday and next Monday off to hang with my sister. I’ve got a lot of work to cram into 3 days, but I can’t wait see and spend time with my big sis!
Do you do anything special to honor deceased loved ones? Have kudzu bugs infiltrated your garden?
