Back to Books

I’m sad to say, it’s been awhile since I’ve read a book.  The last one I read was Emily Giffin’s Love the One You’re With.  I think that was last summer.  I’m upset because I consider myself an avid reader.

My love of books began at an early age.  My mom would read me bedtime stories and it grew from there.  When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t wait for the book fair to make it’s annual stop in the school library.  I loved Beverly Clearly books with her beloved characters Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggins! The Mr. and Little Miss books were great because they were so small!  I loved the Berenstein Bears (sometimes I still watch the show on PBS!)  and The Boxcar Children. As I got older I began reading books like Love Match (I can’t believe you can find it on the internet!LOL) and the Babysitter’s Club series.    In middle school, I started reading Danielle Steel novels!  Looking back, maybe I shouldn’t have been reading those at that age.

I’m kicking off my return to reading with Sisters and Lovers.  Yeah, I know it’s ten years old but the author, Connie Briscoe, has written a sequel.  Sisters and Husbands comes out in June and since I read the first book so long ago, I need to read it again.

Summer is a great time to get back into reading if you’ve neglected the pastime.  Here are some of the books I’ve read or at least attempted to read in my lifetime!
